The Airlie Beach community is beginning to grow quite rapidly, having many developments in progress!

The Whitsunday coast of north Queensland is among the most popular leisure boating regions of the world. In an effort to address the shortage of marina facilities in the region the Whitsunday Sailing Club has proposed a marina and associated facilities in Boathaven Bay.

The planning has included a 600 berth marina, a protected boat harbour, creation of land for commercial and service facilities, parking and inclusion of a ferry and charter vessel terminal.

Accommodation for visitors will be an essential component, so a hotel site was included in the on-shore facilities mix, as well as waterfront villas.
